The Concept

Nature Direct has been a valued client of ours for many years. Our video production agency has had the pleasure of creating a wide range of content for them, including corporate training videos, webinars, lead generation campaigns, and event videography. However, when they approached us to help them create Cleaning Advertisements For The Product Range, we knew this project would be different from our usual work.

The Marketing Strategy:

These cleaning advertisements were essential for Nature Direct’s marketing strategy, as they aimed to target new customers while providing valuable marketing materials for their distributors. Given the national reach of the company, we understood the importance of producing high-quality videos that would capture the attention of a broad audience. Our team was excited to take on the challenge of creating numerous cleaning advertisements for the product range while working within the moderate-sized budget provided by Nature Direct.

With our extensive experience in managing budgets and producing great products, we were confident in our ability to deliver excellent results. We were excited to work with them to produce a series of dynamic cleaning advertisements that would help them achieve their business objectives.

How We Helped

Scripting The Content

One of the first things we did was to create the scripts around the Cleaning Advertisements for the Product Range. Our team worked with the Nature Direct staff to make a list of the benefits, qualities and features about each product and started to picture how these videos could look. After those initial meetings with the staff, we knew these videos needed to look clean, bright with neutral colours, and the actors needed to represent the companies Target Audience. I enlisted the help of our copywriter, Andrea, to research and create the scripts of all 6 cleaning advertisements for the product range. As usual, Andrea came back with something amazing; it was a sales tool (without coming across as a hard sell), it told the story and it pulled at the right emotions at the right time. All we needed to do was fill in the blanks with our footage and bring her wonderful words to life.

Casting and Staffing

Our next challenge was finding the location and casting our actors. Using our cultivated databases over the past 10 years, we used our connections to find the 15 actors needed and the perfect location. I then arranged for our fantastic makeup artist, Lauren from Velbella and our favourite photographer, Leoni Bolt Photography, plus our crew members, Sam Baillie and Gareth David, to meet us all at the location for the 3 day shoot.

The Production Phase:

Our shoot began. Due to our Pre-Production and planning, all of our actors turned up at their scheduled times, all brought appropriate costumes and everyone was willing to pitch in and give a hand. The old saying, “Never work with children or animals” didn’t apply here – except for one moment when our 13 month old actor (seen in the video above) decided it was nap time – not acting time! Our “mother and father” figures were very accommodating to the child actors, and I couldn’t be more proud of our casting – everyone just worked out great.

The Shoot:

Our crew worked brilliantly. While it was a little tricky to lug all of the gear, including dollies, multiple cameras and lights, tripods, cable systems, playback for clients and all of the products and props up and down the 3-story location for each setup, there were just enough hands to make this light work while I worked with the actors and blocked out the scenes. While some blocking had to be worked out on set (due to timing, location features and natural light hitting the location at different times of the day), most of our blocking had already been planned out making it an easy shoot with a nice flow.

Piecing Together The Cleaning
Advertisements for the Product Range

Organisation of Footage

Once we returned back to our Production Studio, we started to catalogue and proxy our footage. We brought each voice over artist into the sound studio over at Tall Poppy Productions and worked with them making sure that their tone matched our footage and Product Advertisement goals. We then pieced all of the footage together on the timeline to match the fluidity of the voice over.

The Post-Production Grade:

We then began to work our magic with Stock Imagery, Graphic Design, Titles, and Music. After shooting for 3 days, there was plenty of footage and takes to choose from and manipulate. The colour grade gave the Cleaning Advertisements the professional look we were after, and the photos that Leoni took helped us to present the products in the best way possible. Lastly, the Stock Music was added, which helped tie each Cleaning Advertisements for the product range together, giving each ad it’s own unique style, while still matching on branding and quality.

Captions and Delivery:

Once the video was approved, we added captions to each clip. This was important, as our research showed that most of Nature Direct’s target audience watched video content with the sound off. We then delivered each Cleaning Advertisement for the product range via Dropbox for the National team of Distributors to use, and uploaded each video to their YouTube channel with the correct SEO listing.

The End Result

Nature Direct rolled out this National Product Advertisement campaign and were happy to report back about how they helped their team to generate new leads, sell product via their online store and generally helped their distributors with fresh marketing for their online Facebook parties. New leads were impressed with the Professionalism of the content, which, in turn, gave them confidence with the Distributor and the Company; plus, with all of the research we did about making the messages align with their Target Audience, the products basically sold themselves. The best part is, this content is evergreen content for the company, allowing them to roll out the same campaign over and over again in the future as they need to. Overall, the creation of the Cleaning Advertisements for the Product Range was a success, thanks to the hard work and coordination of our team, crew, and actors.
